Overview

Introduction

The Social Care and Learning Development and Support Services workforces are critical in providing care and support for vulnerable individuals. The Level 3 Diploma is an essential qualification that guides and assesses the development of knowledge and skills necessary for professionals in this field. It serves as the required qualification for registration and regulatory requirements in the social care sector, and confirms the competence of practitioners in their respective areas of work.

The National Care Standards Act 2000 made it mandatory for 80% of the social care workforce to be qualified to level 3, and the Level 3 Diploma (Social Care pathway) is the accepted qualification to meet this requirement. This qualification is available for different types of learners, including those in full-time employment who require little or no formal learning, those who require some formal learning, and those who require experience in a Real Work Environment.

The Children and Young People’s Workforce qualification is only available as a Diploma at Level 3, and learners wishing to work in the early years workforce must study for an Early Years Educator qualification.

Throughout this course, you will gain an understanding of the social care sector and learn how to apply your knowledge and skills to support individuals in need. We hope you enjoy this learning journey and wish you the best of luck in your future endeavours.

Grading System

In order to attain the qualification, it is necessary to fulfill all the assessment criteria for the selected units. If the assessment criteria for the chosen units are not met, the qualification will not be achieved.
