About Course

Course Overview

  • Study your foundation year, then progress to a degree with industry accreditation from the BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT.
  • Gain real work experience that is relevant to your future career.
  • Develop your knowledge of the major programming languages (C/C++, Java, JavaScript, C#), database design and manipulation, and various modern frameworks.
  • Learn to produce high-quality, large-scale, enterprise-wide and complex software applications.
  • Develop and enhance your skills of computation, software and systems across a variety of application areas, including web-based, database and distributed applications, and hardware programming. You cover all areas of the software development process including system architecture and design, with a particular focus on software solutions.
  • The course is suitable if you don’t meet the entry requirements for our BA (Hons) Software Engineering course, or you want extra preparation before starting degree-level study. You share the first year with other computing foundation year students, then move on to the degree.
  • This course is designed so you can develop skills in contemporary programming techniques, tools and processes and understand the project management practices used to support and control such projects. Through a combination of theoretical and practical activities, you will learn everything you need for a career in software engineering.

If you meet the eligibility criteria, you may be provided with additional financial support through the maintenance Loan from Student Finance England (SFE), which can be used to provide financial assistance with travel, course equipment and childcare costs.

Classroom based

BA (Hon’s) Business and Events Management- 3 Years

BA (Hon’s) Business and Events Management with Foundation year – 4 years

BA (Hon’s) Business and Events Management Top up- 1 Year 

Note: for Top up degree program, you must have completed your level 5 in relevant discipline. 

You must attend the class at least 15 hours a week.

Requirements

  • UCAS points 80
  • This must include at least 32 points from one A level or equivalent BTEC qualifications. For example:
  • CDD at A Level.
  • MMP in BTEC Extended Diploma.
  • A combination of qualifications, which may include AS levels, EPQ and general studies
  • GCSE
  • English Language or English Literature at grade C or 4
  • Maths at grade C or 4
  • • Access - an Access to HE Diploma with at least 45 credits at level 3 and 15 credits at level 2. At least 15 level 3 credits must be at merit grade or above from a QAA-recognised Access to HE course, or an equivalent Access to HE certificate.
